Translational Stroke Group (TREAT)
The TRANSLATIONAL ICTUS (TREAT) group is a consolidated group of the Instituto de Investigación Sanitaria de Santiago de Compostela (IDIS) (code 042), which together with the Neuroaging group (led by Dr. Tomás Sobrino), the Neuroimaging and Biotechnology group (led by Dr. Ramón Iglesias) and the Corneal Neurodegeneration group (coordinated by Dr. Isabel Lema), make up the Laboratory for Research in Clinical Neurosciences (LINC). Basic research
Currently, the ICTUS TRANSLATIONAL group is made up of 16 members, of which eleven researchers focus their activity on basic research, characterised by their complementarity, as they belong to the scientific branches of Biology, Chemistry and Pharmacy.
The group of basic researchers is composed of Ana Isabel Bugallo Casal, Dr. Clara Correa Paz, Dr. Esteban López Arias, José Francisco Toja Camba, Lara Pérez Gayol, Lucia Del Pozo Filiu, María Candamo, Dr. María Pérez Mato and Sonia López Amoedo.
Clinical research
On the clinical side, our group has the direct participation of the three members responsible for the Stroke Unit of the Hospital de Santiago de Compostela (Dr. Manuel Rodríguez Yáñez, and Drs. Susana Arias and María Santamaría).
The Movement Disorders and ALS Unit also forms part of our group (with the participation of Drs. Julio Pardo and Tania García).
Finally, we also have the collaboration of Dr. Jesús Prego Domínguez, Doctor in Nursing and Primary Care Nurse.
